UPGRID (2015 - 2017)
The 3-year UPGRID project focuses on addressing the constraints and needs arising from poor observability of LV grid, local accumulation of distributed generation, risks and difficulties in managing the distribution network, aging infrastructure and social and environmental restrictions that inhibit the grid development.
With this project, an improvement of the monitoring and controllability of low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) grids is expected, as a way to anticipate technical problems associated with large scale integration of DER (Distributed Energy Resources), bringing also end users closer to system operation and planning. Schneider Electric’s contribution to the project is based on Easergy T300, EcoStruxure™ Advanced Metering Operation and Minera SGrid transformer, as well as a set of LV Monitoring functions to combine both RTU and smart metering data to monitor the LV grid.
