SEPS (2012 – 2015)

The SEPS (Sistema experto de probabilidad y severidad de incidentes en red) demonstration project aimed to develop an expert analytics system. This system processed weather forecast data together with grid demand and generation forecast to provide:
- Indices for the likelihood of incidents/disruptions in the distribution network.
- Key information for the relevant markets on potential impact on consumers.

The system helped establish preventive strategies with early actions to tackle extreme weather events by enabling grid network management to:
- Minimize the impact on service continuity.
- Increase security of supply.

Funded by Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, the project (IPT-2012-0580-120000) had a €1,489,196.41 budget and a €1,292,171.86 grant.
