Transformer Differential Protection and Control Devices

Easergy MiCOM P63x series differential protection devices are designed for fast, selective, short-circuit protection of transformers, motors, generators and other installations. Models available: Easergy MiCOM P631, Easergy MiCOM P632, Easergy MiCOM P633 and Easergy MiCOM P634.

  • Features

    The Easergy MiCOM P63x series provides fast and selective differential protection with optional hardware and software features to satisfy your individual needs. It is user-friendly, provides clear readings from extensive recordings, and is available in a modular housing. Easergy MiCOM P63x offers a flexible and powerful device housed in a 4U case in 40TE or 84TE widths.  It provides a scalable solution for your hardware and software needs.
    By entering the nominal values of transformer windings and associated CTs, users obtain amplitude and vector group matching. The devices also incorporate many supplementary protective backup functions. Easergy MiCOM P63x provides four setting groups for easy adaptation to varying system operation conditions and benefits from InterMiCOM interfacing for direct end-to-end communication between two protection devices. Easergy MiCOM P63x is easily interfaced to almost any type of substation control or SCADA system with inbuilt communication interfaces, using either serial protocols (IEC 60870-5-101, -103, Courier, DNP or Modbus) or an Ethernet interface using IEC 61850. In addition, the IRIG-B input supporting modulated or unmodulated signals completes the device.
    For space-saving installation requirements, the Easergy MiCOM P631 is also available in a modular 4U case in 24TE width.
    High-speed, three-system differential protection
    Easergy MiCOM P63x provides high-speed, three-system differential protection using a triple-slope characteristic and two high-set differential elements in combination with transformer inrush restraint, overfluxing restraint and through-stabilization.

    Latest communication protocols and Ethernet redundancy

    The Easergy MiCOM P63x range is fully equipped with the latest communications protocols (IEC 61850 Ed1 and Ed2 available in the same device, selection by setting). Maximum availability and reliability of Ethernet communications is possible thanks to the implementation of PRP/HSR standard redundancy protocols with an instantaneous recovery time (0 ms) in case of network failure. The compatibility of Easergy MiCOM P63x offers some of the RSTP redundancy protocol as well. All redundancy protocols are available in the same device and can be selected by setting. Implemented VLAN and port assignment functionality allows the use of advanced network architectures by splitting the physical network into a logical SCADA system network and maintenance network.

    Major enhancement to cybersecurity

    The Easergy MiCOM P63x range has operational and cybersecurity features, compliant with IEC 62351, that help protect installations with security based on embedded features such as role based access control (RBAC), port hardening, security logs and access traceability. The IED by default includes RBAC with different users defined and a security administrator.
