How can Pedestal function be programmed on an ATV212 Drive?

Published date: 28 July 2019

Issue:
Is Pedestal function available on ATV212 drives and how can it be set?

Product Line:
ATV212, Altivar 212

Environment:
All

Cause:
Customer needs the ATV212 drive to stop the motor when the speed reference falls below a fixed speed and restart above that speed.

Resolution:
Parameters F241 and F242 can be used to set a Pedestal center frequency and hysteresis.
F241 is set to the center frequency for the pedestal and F242 is the hysteresis for the pedestal function.
Example 1:  F241 is set to 5Hz. and F242 is set to 1Hz.
When the speed reference rises above 6 (F241+F242) the motor will start and run.  When the speed reference drops below 4 (F241-F242) the motor will stop.

Example 2:  F241 is set to 15, F242 is set to 10.
When the speed reference rises above 25Hz (F241+F242) the motor comes on and runs.   When the speed reference falls below 5Hz (F241-F242) the motor will stop.
