Why would my ATS48 measure 0 Ohms resistance across the SCR's on all three phases?

Published date: 14 February 2019

Issue:
Why would my ATS48 measure 0 Ohms resistance across the SCR's on all three phases?

Product Line:
Altistart 48

Environment:
All

Cause:
Suspicious measurements

Resolution:
It is highly unlikely that you'll get a 0 Ohms resistance (dead short) reading when actually measuring through the ATS48.
There is likely a bypass (shorting) contactor connected to the Soft Starter, and the measurements are coming from the contactor rather than the ATS48.
Try removing the contactor from the circuit and measuring across the ATS48 again.
