Device driver installation

The EM4900 SE Driver Release Notes.pdf contains several misprints that will cause the logical device import to fail.

*Warning: Take backups of any files prior to modifying them. Ensure the backups are in a location that will not be overwritten (i.e. the Desktop).

In the example below, the EM4900_Logical_Device.csv will be modified per the following customer criteria
  • to reference a physical device named Building1.EM4900
  • to create a single Logical Device named Building1.Meter_A
  • using the logical device type previously created per EM4900 SE Drive Release Notes.pdf called EM4900 Logical Device
  1. Open EM4900_Logical_Device.csv using Excel
Original EM4900_Logical_Device.csv
  1. Update the following:
  • Replace each circuit name in column A with meaningful logical device name in format
  • Delete any unwanted rows
  • Replace the entire column B with the name of the logical device type that was given to the logical device type in the Logical Device Type Editor
  • Replace all the cells in column C with the device name entered in Management Console
  • Confirm all the cells in column D at set to EM4900 as this is the physical device type specified in Management Console
  • Replace the placeholder in "@<physical meter name>_Px_Mxx" with the physical meter name
For example, alter "Demand Current Avg - Sliding@EM.EM4900_P1_M01"
to be "Demand Current Avg - Sliding@Building1.EM4900_P1_M01".
  1. Import the file from Management Console (Tools > Logical Device > Import Logical Device)
Edited EM4900_Logical_Device.csv
