Which version of Unity Help instructions to reference when configuring IP Secure (IPsec) in Windows 7 for communications to a BMENOC0301/0311?

This resolution describes which version of Unity Help instructions to reference when configuring IPsec in Windows 7 for communications to a BMENOC0301 or BMENOC0311.  Unity Pro v13 Help contains instructions for configuring IPsec in Windows 7 for new encryption algorithms that are not yet released in the BMENOC0301/0311 firmware.  This resolution clarifies which version of Unity Pro Help instructions to reference when using specific firmware versions.

Listed below are the BMENOC0301 and BMENOC0311 firmware versions.  Each version contains the IPsec encryption algorithms that are implemented in each and the correct Unity Pro Help version to configure IPsec.

For BMENOC03x1 firmware version 2.09
 
  • IPsec uses SHA-1 and 3DES encryption algorithms.
  • Configuration instructions for SHA-1 and 3DES algorithms are found in Unity Pro 12 Help, ‘Configuring IP Secure Communications’ for Windows 7.
  • Use Unity Pro v8.1 Plantstruxure Library with DTM versions v3.6.x (and later) to run IPsec.

For BMENOC03x1 firmware version 2.10
 
  • IPsec uses SHA-1 and 3DES encryption algorithms.
  • Configuration instructions for SHA-1 and 3DES algorithms are found in Unity Pro 12 Help, ‘Configuring IP Secure Communications’ for Windows 7.
  • Use Unity Pro v8.1 Plantstruxure Library with DTM versions v3.6.x (and later) to run IPsec.

Unity Pro v13 Help contains instructions for configuring IPsec in Windows 7 for encryption algorithms SHA-256 and AES-128-CBC, which will be implemented in firmware release v2.11
