Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 8.1 is stuck on an hourglass after acknowledging an event in the global event viewer

Issue
When attempting to acknowledge an event in the global event viewer of Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 8.1, the cursor changes to an hourglass and appears to be stuck.

Cause
Unintended behavior of the Vista application

Resolution
A hotfix is available for PME 8.1 to keep the acknowledgment process from becoming stuck in this state.
The hotfix and instructions to apply can be found in FA293828.

Note: This fix is included in PME 8.2.  Applying the service pack is also another option to include other fixes.

If you would like to purchase an upgrade, PME 9.0 is also now available.  The Global Event Viewer has been removed in PME 9.0 in favor of a more intelligent incident/alarm alert page in the Web component.
