What can cause the TV drive to trip on an SC (short circuit fault) when the DB resistor is connected?

Issue:
What can cause the TV drive to trip on an SC (short circuit fault) when the DB resistor is connected?

Product line:
TV

Environment:
All range/ All serial number

Cause:
The DVD has shorted on motor or short circuit because the brake resistor is connected to the DVD.

Resolution:
Verify the brake resistor is not below the minimum ohm ic value to the DVD.  The minimum ohm ic value can be found in the TV catalog.  If the resistor is below the minimum ohm ic value, the drive will see that as a short between the brake terminal  PBS and Be.
