How do I change the switching frequency on an ATV212 series drives?
Issue:
How do I change the switching frequency of an ATV212 series drive?
Product Line:
Altivar 212 series drives, open style and Enclosed S-Flex systems.
Environment:
All models, All serial numbers.
Cause:
Motor is making excessive noise, may only be at certain frequencies or may be at any frequency. Adjusting the switching frequency of the drive can sometimes correct motor noise issues.
Resolution:
Parameter F300 sets the switching frequency of the drive. The range is 6.0 to 16.0 Khz in 0.1Khz increments. Generally, it is better to adjust the switching frequency down instead of up, as higher switching frequencies can cause the drive to produce more heat, but if setting the switching frequency to a lower setting will not correct the issue, it is ok to adjust this upwards.
