What are the difference between the 4 options when linking my Vijeo Designer variables to an equipment?

Published date: 04 November 2019

- Option 1: "Elements in equipment structure". This will create a structure for the equipment selected and add the variables into this structure.

- Option 2: "Variables that combine equipment and name". This will add the variables at the root of the target. The variable names will be combinations of the equipment name and the symbol names.

- Option 3: "Variables that keep the same name". This will add the variables at the root of the target. The variable names will be exactly the symbol names.

- Option 4: "Variable named". This only applies to adding one variable at a time, with the option to rename it.

Options 2 and 3 don t have a limit of how many variables can be added. However, option 1 has a limit of 200 variables. This is not a limit in the PLC Symbol Import feature itself. It is a limit at the structure level. In Vijeo-Designer, a structure can not contain more than 200 variables. Whether you add variables to a structure manually or through the PLC Symbol Import feature, the result is the same: when trying to add the 201st variable to the structure, Vijeo-Designer will stop you.
