Ask a Question

When using an external braking resistor with a Lexium 32 drive, if the RESint_ext parameter is set to 1, is the internal resistor completely bypassed, or does the drive just shunt the excess energy to the external resistor?

Goals and Symptoms

This resolution serves to explain the setting REsint_ext when using an external breaking resistor.

Facts and Changes

Causes and Fixes

RESint_ext = 1 means the External Braking resistor is selected. The internal resistor is by passed. So before changing the parameter, the external resistor needs to be connected to the drive. The Setting can be changed only if power stage is disabled and changed settings become active the next time the power stage is enabled.
