Can I force a value in a 3x register while online with the PLC using Concept IEC?

Published date: 21 March 2019

Issue
Need to test logic in a PLC but do not have analog input cards available.

Product line
Concept programming software

Resolution
No. A 3x register can not have a value forced into it via the RDE while online with the PLC. In Concept, you will see that the value of the 3x register is grayed out and does not accept values written into it. The 3x register is an input register which is mapped to I/O. It allows field data to be brought into the PLC application either through the Analog Input modules or Peer Cop.

**NOTE: LL984 does have a 1X3X loadable that allows a 1x3X instruction be used in logic that allows value forcing.
