Aroung 30% energy savings thanks to the optimized management, load shedding funtions and energy contract negociation

987 Soho Hotel, Prague

(Czech Republic)

Customer Profile
An absolutely unique gastronomic and relaxing area has been created in Prague, including hotels, a congress center as well as restaurants and cafés.
Design by the leading Czech architect Josef Pleskot, it includes three hotels:
- The four-star and five-star hotels in a modern style bear the name of 987 SOHO HOTEL and its operator is Brisasol, a spanish hotel chain.
- A three-star  Da Vinci Suites hotel is managed by the New Castle Management company.

Customer objectives
The investor wanted one company, which would be able to supply all systems as one package. They also wanted high energy efficiency of the entire facility and the capacity to drive the complete installation from a central point.

Customer benefits
The provided solution allows the customer to drive and optimize its installation from a single point of control. He can also access all the information remotely through a Web server.

The integration of electrometers and heat meters into the  control system ensures the follow-up of energy consumptions of individual tenants.

Load shedding capabilities in case of pick cunsumptions is one of the key function to avoid additional energy cost. Thanks to the clear visibility of the energy consmptions, the best contract can be negociated with the energy supplier.

Implementation Methodology
The complete project was divided into 4 parts.
- The first part includes the congress centre and shopping mall.
- The three other parts represent each of the three hotels.

Schneider Electric implemented turn-key solutions including third party systems like audio system, Cisco active components, radio etc.

How did we estimate the energy savings
The complete integration of the system allows to reduce the CAPEX of 15% as described in the independant study of CBTG (Integrated Approach for Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Control System Infrastructures within Buildings).
The monitoring & control of the complete installation allows an optimized management of all the systems resulting in important energy savings.
Load shedding and contract negociation with the electrical supplier had an immediate impact on the energy bill.
