Renaissance Hotel is Quality-tier full-service brand providing guests with the ambiance of a Boutique Hotel. This is a brand of the Marriott Group, a leading hospitality group that includes other famous brands like JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels and Resorts and Ritz Calrton. The hotel developer/owner is Thai Real Estate Development company.
Renaissance Hotel @ Ratchprasong is located in the central business district of Bangkok. It is a 35 storeys building offering 330 spacious and comfortable rooms.
Customer objectives
Renaissance Hotel and the hotel developer wanted to set a new landmark in luxury and propose a different experience. The concept was to be luxurious, impresive and with the state-of-the-art technologies. Total cost of ownership and energy efficiency were as well critical concern.

Guest Delight & Make life Easier
- Lighting Control in function rooms allows the guest (and Hotel staff) change the lighting mode to suit their activities just a single press on "preset scene" and no more to play around with 20 Dimmers in conventional dimmer.
- EPIC allows guests to easy connect devices in room, forget about squeezing hand to connect the cable behind TV. This is also meaning less help required - easier job for hotel staff.

Implementation Methodology
Schneider Electric got into the project in an early stage of the project. Its mechanical & electrical designer experts were able to work closely with the developer in order to propose an optimized and complete solution.
An important collaboration took place with the hotel operator, the hotel owner and the interior to provide the best solution for the mock-up room.
Schneider Electric partners, distributors and system integrators, supported the contractor during the construction phase.
How did we estimate the energy savings
Occupancy of the room is changing through out the day. The guest is usually in his room around 8 hours a day.
When the guest is away, the temperature of the room can be reduced. A change of 1 degree in the room allows saving 3% of the energy bill of the HVAC system.
Management of the occupancy allows to save a minimum of 10% of energy usage on the energy bill.
