Why can I not connect via USB to my M580 with Unity Pro?

There appears to be an issue with the USB connection to the M580 with Unity Pro v8.1 where it will not allow you to connect because it does not see the controller. Not all users will experience this issue, but there is a work around. If you are not able to connect first and foremost you must make sure that you have a healthy USB connection and that you have the PLC USB drivers installed. If all that checks out you may need to change the IP Address of the M580's network adapter.

To change the IP Address navigate to your Network Setting and you will want to look at your Network Adapters. Right-click on the M580 network adapter that is created when the USB cable is plugged into the controller. Select Properties then select Internet Protocol Version 4 and select Properties again. You will want to enable the Use the Following IP address. Change the IP Address to 90.0.0.3 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. Close all windows and now you should be able to connect to your M580.
