Does Lexium 32 accept NPN or PNP type proximity sensors?

Lexium 32 drives accept NPN (normally closed) and PNP (normally open) type proximity sensors.
However, it is recommended to use normally closed (NPN) type for safety reasons.

If a normally closed (NPN) type sensor fails or the wiring is damaged the drive will see a change of state of the input and prevent motion.
In the case of normally open (PNP) type sensors, if the sensor fails or the wiring is damaged then the drive has no input to indicate the event and would be at risk of over-travel.

The type of sensors used can be configured in the parameter settings of the Lexium 32 drive.
