ION Setup's basic and advanced setup modes or Designer of ION Enterprise/PME/SPM by opening the meters factory module setup register.

A user may wish to give a custom name to the template.

Changing the template string will not change the behavior of the meter itself.  It will however alter how PME and ION Setup interact with the meter.
The template string is used to help the software decide on what screens to show the user.  If the software fails to parse the template string, then the user will have to manually decide on what diagrams to use.

If the customer wants to change the default template name they should append to the end of the name so that it can still be parsed correctly by software.
