OTB export sets the default for the Analog Input Global Interrupt Enable to 1 instead of 0.

Goals and Symptoms

OTB export sets the default for the Analog Input Global Interrupt Enable to 1 instead of 0.

Facts and Changes

Advantys version 4.0

Causes and Fixes

CAN OPEN specification 'CIA 401 section 8.5.4 Analog Input Global Interrupt Enable (6423h)'
states:

'This object shall enable and disable globally the interrupt behaviour without changing the
interrupt mask. By default, no analogue input activates an interrupt.'

The exported .eds file from the Advantys Configuration Software version 4.0 incorrectly shows the analog
input as being activated by default.

[6423]
ParameterName=Analog Input Global Interrupt Enable
ObjectType=0x07
DataType=0x0001
AccessType=rw
DefaultValue=1
LowLimit=0
HighLimit=1
PDOMapping=0

As a workaround, you can edit the '.eds' file with 'Notepad' using the following steps.:

  • Search for following section:

    [6423]
    ParameterName=Analog Input Global Interrupt Enable
    ObjectType=0x07
    DataType=0x0001
    AccessType=rw
    DefaultValue=1
    LowLimit=0
    HighLimit=1
    PDOMapping=0

  • Change the 'DefaultValue=1' to 'DefaultValue=0'
  • Click on 'File\Save As'
  • Click on the down arrow next to the textbox labeled 'Save As Type' and
    select 'All Files'
  • Select the 'Encoding' as ANSI.
  • Click on the 'Save' button.
  • Click on the 'Yes' button to replace the existing file.
  • Save the changes.
