Goals and Symptoms
Ke values are limited to 0.001 to 16 range and can only be increments of 0.001. If a value such as 0.00125 is needed for the Ke value, with the current configuration, this is not possible as the next value that could be used would be 0.002.
Causes and Fixes
Here is the procedure to allow the user to program a higher resolution for the Ke value via the front panel optical port.
1. Using Windows Explorer, go to the ION Setup folder, then go to the sub-folder TABLES/ANSIC12/SQD5600 and open the SETUP.CFG file in that folder using Notepad.
2. Find the [Energy Pulsing] section which should look like the following:
Setup1=3,13,KY Relay #1 Enable
Setup2=15,33,KY Relay #1 Source
List2=0=kWh Del,1=kWh Rec,3=kVAh RMS,6=kVARh Del,7=kVARh Rec
Setup3=25,44,KY Relay #1 Ke Value
Setup4=3,13,KY Relay #2 Enable
Setup5=16,33,KY Relay #2 Source
List5=0=kWh Del,1=kWh Rec,3=kVAh RMS,6=kVARh Del,7=kVARh Rec
Setup6=28,44,KY Relay #2 Ke Value
For each of the lines that say DecimalsX=3 (ex. Decimals3=3), change the number after the equals sign to 5 (thus allowing users to enter 5 decimals of resolution).
3. Save the file and start ION Setup. Re-program the Ke setting with the higher resolution value and save the changes.
There is no resolution at this time, however this has been submitted for review to create a permanent fix in future firmware versions.
