Causes and Fixes

1) Open Sybase Central (Start > Programs > SQL Anywhere > Sybase Central)

3) Copy the path and file name from the configuration and paste them below
ex. The code in the file is something like:
–n PCNAME_DB_SERVER
–c 12M
–x netbios,tcpip
“C:\Program Files\Sybase Database\PML_LOGS.DB”
-n PML_LOGS

copy the last 2 lines here and paste below:

–n PCNAME_DB_SERVER
–c 12M
–x netbios,tcpip
“C:\Program Files\Sybase Database\PML_LOGS.DB”
-n PML_LOGS
“C:\Program Files\Sybase Database\PML_LOGS.DB”
-n PML_LOGS

4) Now edit the path to the other database that needs to be connected and give it a unique name:
–n PCNAME_DB_SERVER
–c 12M
–x netbios,tcpip
“C:\Program Files\Sybase Database\PML_LOGS.DB”
-n PML_LOGS
“C:\Program Files\Sybase Database\PML_Archive.DB”
-n PML_Archive

5) Now click apply and restart the SQL Anywhere Service.
6) Now create a new database connection with the parameters shown below [Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC)]

Note: the Data Source Name can be changed to be anything

7) Now create a new query module in ION Enterprise Designer as described in the technical note and connect to the Data Source Name created in step 6:

Now the data can be viewed for both databases in ION Enterprise Vista. Repeat the procedure to add more databases to the system.
