Energy Meter IR Port Information

The IR port is available as standard on both the basic and enhanced models of the Energy Meter. With the use of a Palm OS organizer with IR capabilities (Palm 3, 5, 7, and Handspring Visor) and the software that is included with the Energy Meter, information from the Energy Meter can be read via the infrared into the organizer. The organizer must be within 12 inches and within a +/-20 degree angle of the IR horizontal to accept a reading.

As of 02/02/2010 the IR communications capabilities were removed from production of the Energy Meters.
Any Energy Meters manufactured after 02/02/2010 will not have IR communications capabilities.
