Causes and Fixes
IEC 61000-4-7 is a test standard defining how to check immunity and how to measure harmonics and inter-harmonics of EQUIPMENT connected to main power.
This standard is called by the IEC1000-3-2. This standard assesses and sets the limit for EQUIPMENT that draws input current ?16A per phase and power between 75 to 600W.
EQUIPMENT with power consumption below 75W rms are excluded. EQUIPMENT that draws current >16A and ?75A per phase are covered by IEC/TS 61000-3-12.
Usual consumption of our PLCs are below 75W, so this test is not performed.
The IEC 61000-4-8 is a test standard defining the Testing and measurement techniques for Power frequency magnetic field immunity test.
This standard is called by the IEC 61131-2 (PLC standard), TS IEC 61000-6-5 (Generic standards - Immunity for power station and substation environments) and IEC 61850-3 (general requirements for power stations :Communication networks and systems in substations). The levels defined inside the IEC61131-2 are low and would concern EQUIPMENT sensitive to magnetic fields, such as CRTs. M340 is tested for IEC 61000-4-8 at the level of 100A/m 50/60Hz continuous and 1000A/m during 3 s. This will be updated in the catalog that is now under review.
M340 is also tested for IEC standard 61000-4-9 (Pulse magnetic field immunity test) up to 100A/m
