Goals and Symptoms
Proworx32 and Compact PLC through a TSXETG100 gateway Command not valid while coil is enabled error message.
Causes and Fixes
This error message occurs only when making online programming changes or when issuing a Start/Run command to a Compact PLC. Proworx32 is connected to the Compact PLC through the ethernet side of a TSXETG100 gateway setup as a Master and using serial RS232 to the Compact 984-145 Modbus serial port.
The above screen shots show the error when issuing a PLC Start operation.
The above screen shots show the error when issuing a PLC logic Write All operation.
These errors messages are displayed in the Proworx32 message center windows but the operation executed is performed and completed as requested. The error message is occurring because the TSXETG100 gateway is not holding the serial connection open long enough to tell Proworx32 that the operation was successful.
The TSXETG100s Response Time value is used to select how long the ETG will wait to receive a response from the serial device and needs to be set to 10 Seconds. This will allow enough time to respond to Proworx32 that the operation was successful.
The above screen shots show the results after the response timeout adjustment.
