Goals and Symptoms
The purpose of this resolution is to inform 170ENT11000 and 170ENT11002 users that the firmware has been upgraded to version 1.11.
Causes and Fixes
Version 1.11 firmware has been changed to increase the Modbus response 'Time-to-Live' (TTL) from 10 to 64. The file, meiov111.bin, is used for both 170ENT11000 and 170ENT11002 Ethernet Communication adapters.
Time-to-live (TTL) is a value in an Internet Protocol (IP) packet that tells a network router whether or not the packet has been in the network too long and should be discarded. Since each router is required to subtract at least one count from the TTL field, the count is usually used to mean the number of router hops the packet is allowed before it must be discarded.
