Causes and Fixes

Setting up an IP address on a OTB1E0DM9LP version 1.4 module Using the Advantys Configuration Software ver 2.5

Launch Advantys Configuration Software and select OTB.

Select Create a new Island. Name the new Island.

Select the OTB module from the list and drop it onto the rail.

Select the Upload Configuration button.

Enter the last two values of the OTB’s MAC address and you will notice that the last two octets of the default IP address will automatically fill in. (Write the full default IP address down then press the Upload IP parameters button.)

Power off the OTB.
Change the right rotary wheel position to IP.
Connect a RJ45 crossover patch cable from your computer to the OTB.
Power on the OTB and after a few min. the amber STAT light on the OTB will flash 6 times.
Press the OK button.

Note: You should try to ping the default IP address at this point which will check you’re cabling to the OTB. The easiest way to do this is by changing the IP address on your computer to match the OTB's default IP address with the last octet off by one value.

Enter all the correct IP information and press the Upload button while using the default IP address. (If no gateway is available leave empty and the software will use the OTB’s IP address)

Power off the OTB.
Change both rotary wheel position to something other then IP or BOOTP.
Change the IP address to your computer to it’s normal address.
Power on the OTB and the amber STAT light will be on solid, now make sure you can ping the OTB with it’s new IP address.
