Ask a Question

If I connect my 10BaseT, half duplex Ethernet device such as a Momentum CPU to an Ethernet switch, do I eliminate collisions?

No, You do not eliminate collisions. As the M1 being half duplex, and the Ethernet switch negotiating a matched 10 Mbs half duplex connection, this remains a collision diameter network of 2 devices. Either the half duplex device can transmit, or the switch can transmit, but not both simultaneously. Only full duplex devices can communicate simultaneously with Ethernet full duplex capable switches.
