ProWORX 32 returns a Runtime Error 2015 when it is installed and started on a PC that has Delta V software.

Goals and Symptoms

ProWORX 32 returns a Runtime Error 2015 when it is installed and started on a PC that has 'Delta V' software.
('Delta V' is a third party software from Emerson.)

Facts and Changes

The 'ProWORX 32' and 'Delta V' both use a third party software component called 'Ina'. Unfortunately, the Delta V
software is using an older version of the shared 'Ina' Active-X controls. This older version is causing the Runtime
Error 2015 to occur when ProWORX 32 is started.

Causes and Fixes

The following procedure can be used to resolve the problem:

  • Log into the Delta V system.
  • Switch to the Windows desktop.

  • Locate the four (4) 'Ina' Active-X Control files in the 'C:\EmersonCommon' folder.
(Note: The filenames are 'InaCheck.ocx', 'InaCombo.ocx', 'InaEdit.ocx' and 'InaGrid.ocx'.)

  • Click on Start\Run and type in the command (regsvr32 -u 'filename' ) to unregister the 'Ina' ocx file.

i.e., regsvr32 -u c:EmersonCommon\InaCheck.ocx

  • Repeat this step for all of the 'Ina' ocx files that are in the 'C:\EmersonCommon' folder.
  • Open the 'Windows\System 32' folder and locate the 'Ina' Active-X Control files.

    (Note: The filenames are 'InaCheck.ocx', 'InaCombo.ocx', 'InaEdit.ocx' and 'InaGrid.ocx'.)
    • Click on Start\Run and type in the command to register the 'Ina' ocx files.
    i.e., regsvr32 'C:\Windows\System 32\InaCheck.ocx
    • Repeat this step for all of the 'Ina' ocx files in the 'C:\Windows\System 32' folder..

    5.) Start ProWORX 32.
